Prof. Dr. Mihone Kerolli Mustafa
Rector of Public International Business College Mitrovica
I am pleased to note that despite being a challenging year, 2024 has been a very successful year for IBCM in terms of transformation and adaptation to the new public system, and I believe that the Public International Business College Mitrovica (IBCM) has evolved into a prominent higher education institution in Kosovo. We have jointly invested our efforts in expanding our presence to national aspects of higher education and beyond, furthering our mission.
This expansion is a significant reflection of our firm commitment to quality education, inclusiveness, and community capacity building in Mitrovica and the region.
Our mission at IBCM is clear: to strengthen Kosovo’s education system, rebuild trust, utilize education to improve our society, and encourage cooperation in an inclusive and diverse landscape. I believe that higher education can do more than grant degrees; it must also open doors to dialogue, cooperation, and the creation of new ideas. Every year, I witness how IBCM students, faculty members, and alumni bring this concept to life through their projects, research, and leadership in their communities.
An important milestone of our efforts in 2014 was the promotion of academic excellence. This perspective was invaluable in shaping new policies that directly impacted the IBCM academic community. By involving all staff and students, we have created a sense of ownership and commitment towards our institutional goals.
We’re excited to align with international education standards and best practices, as this is key to our strategy. IBCM is actively working on its curricula to meet the urgent demand for professionals in sustainable development, business, public administration, IT, environmental, and agricultural fields here in Kosovo and beyond. Our new programs and accreditation focus on preparing a dynamic new generation of professionals ready to provide solutions for the challenges of society, environmental issues, and the pursuit of sustainable development!
Another important progress was internationalization and new partnerships that transcend inclusive, trans-sectorial and lines. It means developing programs in collaboration with my esteemed colleagues that will equip our graduates not only with the skills to secure a job but also with the ability to effect change in Kosovo. It demands that we persist and remain committed to making IBCM efforts a priority and making sure that our work addresses the original needs of our society.
"Our plan remains simple and clear: to improve our academic offerings, develop new partnerships, improve significantly our research activities on all levels, and at the same time keep inclusiveness at the center of our activity."
